Aksak Maboul
"Onze danses pour combattre la migraine"   (vinyl reissue)
out on September 11th

Here's at last the vinyl reissue of the seminal album recorded in 1977 by Crammed founder Marc Hollander
with Vincent Kenis  (a.o. producer of the Congotronics series), and originally released
on Marc Moulin's ephemeral Kamikaze label.

Leapfrogging over style & genre boundaries, Hollander & Kenis playfully fused and deconstructed all kinds of genres to create their own musical world, taking in elements of rock, electronics, jazz, early 20th century classical, imaginary African & Balkan music, American minimalism, and even proto-techno (as in the surprising track Saure Gurke, which foreshadows some characteristic Detroit techno riffs by a good ten years).
Three years later, Hollander founded the Crammed label.

"Onze Danses…" became a cult album, and can retrospectively be viewed as a manifesto for the Crammed aesthetics, a blueprint for some of the directions which the label went on to follow during the next few decades.

Maia Vidal
"You're The Waves"
out on September 25th

Love, Love Love! This is the main theme of this  great new album by Maïa Vidal. Beautiful melodies and moving, humourous and distinctive lyrics, all written by Maïa, make this album a special treat for the rainy days. This lovely electronic pop opus was brilliantly produced by Maïa herself, co-produced by Giuliano Cobelli, and mixed by
Van Rivers (Glasser, Fever Ray, Matthew Dear).

Maïa Vidal has created 3 videos for this new album: "Bones", "The Tide" (premiered by Vice US), and here is the latest,  "Islands Of You and Me", just premiered by MadmoiZelle:

The resurrection of Crammed's celebrated Made To Measure composers' series continues!
