Nynke sings in Frisian, her mother tongue. A language with a rich history and a great poetic quality, which is only spoken in the northern part of The Netherlands. Her special vocal talents attracted the attention of the famous, multiple award winning producer/guitarist Javier Limón from Spain. The man behind the astonishing singer Buika, producer of the last album of Anoushka Shankar and head of the Mediterranean music department of the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston (USA). After working with singers such as Buika, Mariza, Estrella Morente and Yasmin Levy, to name but a few, he got to know Nynke’s Frisian repertoire and was immediately interested in working with her. They teamed up to create this new album and were immediately united by their common passion for language and poetry, and for capturing emotion in music.
