SKIP&DIE - Remixed Riots
Ever since the release of their debut album “Riots in the Jungle” (which came out on Crammed Discs in October 2012), the sensational genre-blending band formed by South African vocalist & visual artist Catarina Aimée Dahms (aka Cata.Pirata) and Dutch musician & producer Jori Collignon have been wowing the crowds all around Europe, with their dynamic fusion of electronic dance music, tropical bass, ragga, hip hop and everything in between.
This fall, SKIP&DIE are back with the sparkling “Remixed Riots” mini-album, containing no less than 8 reworks of SKIP&DIE tracks by the following producers/DJs :
Bomba Estéreo (CO)
Bomba Estéreo was formed in 2005 as a project by visual artist/musician, Simón Mejía, who started to form a collective of different DJ’s and visual artists, including some of the most recognized young artists in Colombia. Their albums have been acclaimed by both local and international media, fans and critics all over the world.
Frikstailers (AR)
Essentially, the music of the Frikstailers is all energy. 220 volts of pure dance energy. Both smart and shockingly fun, it is a project manned by the multi-rhythmic and sampling madmen Rafa Caivano (aka Ralf aka DJ Rafa Caivano) and Lisandro Sona (aka Sandro Lee, aka DJ Sandro de America).
Wiwek (NL)
Wiwek, formerly known as Oui’Wack, is a DJ/producer from Holland. His ‘Jungle Wars EP’ charted on Diplo´s, Fatboy Slim’s, and Tocadisco’s beatport chart and got airplay on radio mixes from Tiesto, Roger Sanchez, Fedde Le Grand, Brodinski, Laidback Luke and many others. In 2012 he started his own label together with Gregor Salto and his Dadadam group called RIMBU.
RipTide (NL)
After the shock-succes of the remix he made of the track ‘Amsterdam’, Max Bedeker (1984) is now gearing up for the release of his first album (with a couple of EPs preceding it), and a subsequent live tour.
He has collaborated with some of his favourite artists such as Bart B More, Tommie Sunshine, Justin Robertson and NT89, and made remixes for renowned producers like Junkie XL & Shinichi Osawa. In the meantime he’s also found the time to get his own label, ‘House Of Sound’, ready for liftoff.
Crypto.Jori (NL)
Crypto.Jori is actually Dutch producer Jori Collignon (C-Mon & Kypski, Nobody Beats The Drum) who founded SKIP&DIE along with South African vocalist / visual artist Catarina Aimée Dahms (aka Cata.Pirata).
Fybe:one (UK)
Fybe:one is a music producer / graphic designer / illustrator. He is also co-founder of the Shades record label.
MPS Pilot (NL)
mps PILOT is one of The Netherlands’ most experienced and renowned Tropical/Worldbass DJ’s. His work promises state of the art mixing of contemporary worldwide produced dance music. The BPM in his set vary between 80-180 and the tracks come from Africa, Asia, Latin America, Brasil, North America, The Middle East and Europe. His performances virtually took him all over the world, spinning both in desert areas and metropolises.
Bart B More (NL)
Hailing from the Netherlands, Bart van der Meer - known as Bart B More - has been a constant factor in the international electronic dance music scene for many years. His love for DJing and producing has taken him to every continent on the planet, leaving his audience with something to remember - or not to remember.
