Description
Celso Fonseca - Rive Gauche Rio
The follow-up to the acclaimed “Natural” album is every bit as warm, inspired, elegant & sensual... Celso’s caressing voice and splendid guitar playing are in top form...
The title “Rive Gauche Rio” is a combined allusion to Celso’s beloved city of Rio and to the Parisian Left Bank, two places which have radically changed since their golden years in the ‘50s and ‘60s... yet the spirit of that era still lives on in people’s collective imagination, and sometimes also in music.
The album contains a duet with Uruguayan singer/guitarist Jorge Drexler (who won the Oscar for best song in a film for his contribution to "Motorcycle Diaries"), and covers of songs by Damien Rice and Henri Salvador.
